Are you wondering what the connection is between a stuffed animal and Place of Sage? (Other than the fact that I do have a great skunk story...well, great for all who laugh at it...not so great for Dion and I.)

My other job is in the OR of a small hospital, where it can be quite stressful; so we look for humorous ways to ease that stress. Thus, Polecat was born. His name came from my friend, Becky Roberts; and my friend, Linda Welch, was his designer.(And she was a secret--til now. Sorry, Linda!)  So, it all started with pigs...but that's another story.

(Polecat's designer, Linda Welch, is on the right; and this author is the funny-looking one on the left.)

Kidnapped!

Since my co-workers are great supporters of Place of Sage...and jokes; I thought it would be fun to combine the two. So...one Saturday morning, Tracy Todd grabbed her camera, I snatched the polecat, and together we headed east.

In Roslyn, we caught the attention of many, as my photographer made me stand out in the street for what seemed like forever, as she waited for that perfect shot. I'm not keen on being a local attraction--but it was sure funny!

Here at Vantage, it was hilarious with people staring at us. What a site we were: two grown girls on a photo shoot with a skunk...on a pole.

Photographing with the dinosaurs was a hoot. There were a lot of kids there, and they were quite interested in what we were doing.

.

In this shot, the dinosaur was so tall that I had to lean over a fence and stand on tiptoes to try to reach him; and as Tracy waited for that perfect shot, I almost lost my balance, and well...you can imagine the site.

At Dry Falls, the wind picked up, and Polecat almost fell off the cliff. (You can't tell from the photo, but it is a long way, straight down). I would hate to explain that one on a Monday morning.
